Director of Knowledge Graph & Entity Intelligence

Remote (United States preferred)

CiteWorks Studio is hiring a Director of Knowledge Graph & Entity Intelligence to lead research into how large language models identify entities, connect sources, resolve ambiguity, and determine which organizations become trusted references in AI-generated answers.

This leadership role focuses on studying how knowledge graphs, entity relationships, structured data, and source authority signals influence the behavior of systems such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and open-source large language models.

The Director of Knowledge Graph & Entity Intelligence will guide research exploring entity recognition, source association, structured information systems, and trust signals used in generative search environments.

[ OVERVIEW ]

What Is Knowledge Graph & Entity Intelligence?

Knowledge graph and entity intelligence is the study of how AI systems identify people, companies, products, places, topics, and other entities, then connect those entities to trusted attributes, relationships, and sources.

In modern AI systems, this often includes understanding:

  • how brands and organizations are represented as entities
  • how AI systems connect entities to authoritative sources
  • how structured data influences retrieval and summarization
  • how ambiguity between similar entities is resolved
  • how source relationships affect citations and recommendations

For large language models, entity intelligence helps explain why certain brands, websites, people, and organizations appear more often in AI-generated answers.

[ THE ROLE ]

What Does a Director of Knowledge Graph & Entity Intelligence Do?

A Director of Knowledge Graph & Entity Intelligence leads research and analysis focused on how AI systems interpret entity relationships and source trust.

The role focuses on studying how large language models and generative search systems:

  • identify entities across web content and structured data
  • associate brands with topics, categories, and attributes
  • connect entities to trusted publishers and references
  • resolve entity ambiguity across similar names and concepts
  • use entity relationships to shape generated answers

The Director works at the intersection of AI search research, knowledge representation, information retrieval, and authority modeling.

[ ABOUT US ]

About CiteWorks Studio

CiteWorks Studio is an AI research and generative engine optimization (GEO) firm focused on understanding how large language models retrieve and cite information. The company’s current job architecture already emphasizes AI citation intelligence, generative search benchmarking, LLM retrieval systems, evaluation, and large-scale AI data infrastructure.

Modern AI systems such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity increasingly function as the primary interface for information discovery. Instead of ranking links like traditional search engines, these systems generate answers by retrieving and synthesizing knowledge from multiple sources. CiteWorks’ existing docs repeatedly frame this work around how AI systems determine trusted sources, how citation patterns appear in answers, and how knowledge graphs influence model responses.

CiteWorks Studio studies this transformation and helps organizations understand:

  • how AI systems determine trusted sources
  • how citation patterns appear inside AI-generated answers
  • how knowledge graphs influence model responses
  • how organizations become trusted references in generative search systems

Our research focuses on AI citation intelligence, generative search benchmarking, LLM retrieval systems, and entity-level authority analysis.

[ ROLE OVERVIEW ]

Role Overview

The Director of Knowledge Graph & Entity Intelligence will lead research exploring how entities, source relationships, and structured information influence large language model outputs.

The role will guide initiatives that study:

  • entity recognition across AI-generated answers
  • knowledge graph relationships between brands, topics, and sources
  • structured data and schema signals
  • source authority mapping
  • entity disambiguation in generative search systems
  • how organizations become trusted references in AI environments

This role combines entity intelligence research, applied AI systems analysis, and source authority modeling.

[ RESPONSIBILITIES ]

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Knowledge Graph & Entity Intelligence will oversee research into how modern AI systems identify entities, connect them to trusted sources, and use those relationships in generated responses.

Responsibilities include:

  • leading research into entity recognition and entity resolution across AI systems
  • mapping how brands, products, organizations, and people appear across LLM outputs
  • analyzing how knowledge graph relationships influence AI retrieval and citation behavior
  • studying structured data, schema signals, and source attributes that shape model understanding
  • identifying cases where entity ambiguity affects AI-generated answers
  • building frameworks that measure entity visibility, authority, and trust across AI platforms
  • collaborating with data and machine learning teams to develop systems that track entity-level behavior in generative search
  • publishing research on knowledge graphs, entity intelligence, and trusted-source formation in AI systems

[ WHY IT MATTERS ]

Why Knowledge Graph & Entity Intelligence Matters

Large language models do not simply generate text in isolation.

They generate answers by combining learned patterns with retrieval behavior, source signals, and structured representations of entities and relationships.

As AI systems become the primary interface for information discovery, organizations need to understand:

  • how their brand is represented as an entity
  • which sources are associated with that entity
  • whether AI systems correctly interpret entity relationships
  • how knowledge graph signals influence citations and summaries
  • why some organizations become trusted references while others do not

Entity intelligence helps explain how AI systems organize trust, relevance, and authority at the brand and source level.

[ RESEARCH AREAS ]

Research Areas This Role Will Explore

The Director will guide research across several areas of entity intelligence and AI search.

Entity Recognition

Studying how AI systems identify brands, people, products, organizations, and topics in content and generated answers.
